INTERVAL HOUSE

As Canada's first shelter for abused women and children, Interval House Toronto provides a safe haven and essential programs to help women and children who are fleeing from violence in their own homes. Established 30 years ago, Interval House's service is grounded in the deep-rooted belief in the courage, strength and ability of women who come to the shelter. Abused women ask for help and support and Interval House provides them with the tools to become empowered and independent. The shelter is operated by professionals and volunteers whose purpose is to provide safety, protection and advocacy for assaulted women and children. Today, apart from providing the basic necessities such as shelter, clothing, food and medicines, Interval House has a Counselling program, a Children's Program, A Court Support Program and An Ex-Resident and Building Economic Self-Sufficiency Program.
